Volvo Car USA delivers new all-electric EX90 to winner of ‘My Volvo EX90 Story’ sweepstakes

Hometown win: South Carolinian drives home with new all-electric Volvo EX90, assembled at the automaker’s plant in South Carolina

Volvo Car USA recently delivered a brand-new fully electric Volvo EX90 to Danny Temples of Aiken, South Carolina - the winner of the ‘My Volvo EX90 Story’ Sweepstakes, providing the perfect start to his very own Volvo story.

Launched as part of its campaign celebrating 70 years in the United States and the stories of the people who have shaped the brand’s legacy, Volvo Car USA invited fans of the brand to create their own Volvo story with a chance to win one of the company’s flagship fully electric SUVs.

As part of the prize, Danny and his wife Kathy received a personal tour of the Volvo Car Charleston Plant in Ridgeville, SC for a first-hand look at exactly where his new EX90 was assembled. They then visited Hendrick Volvo Cars of Charleston to take home their Scandinavian Calm design of the EX90 – a Twin Motor Performance Plus in Denim Blue with Dawn Nordico interior.

“Winning the "My Volvo EX90 Story” Sweepstakes has been the experience of a lifetime! The Volvo EX90 is an amazing car, and we look forward to enjoying it for a long time,” said Danny Temples, sweepstakes winner. “We are incredibly grateful to Volvo for their kindness and generosity.”

Danny’s story is now another moment added to Volvo Cars’ long history in the United States. Seven decades ago, the first Volvo, a PV444, was unloaded in the United States at a port in Long Beach, California. This year, the company celebrated the sale of its 5 millionth new car in the country. With today’s electrified lineup, Volvo Cars continues to be driven by its commitment to human-centric design, technological innovation, and a safer, more sustainable future.

“We are delighted to welcome Danny and Kathy to the Volvo family and help them begin their electrified journey with their new EX90,” said Luis Rezende, President, Volvo Car Americas. “This moment truly captures the spirit of our ‘Our Volvo Story’ campaign. Everyone has a Volvo story, and we’re honored to be part of Danny’s.”
