The German musician Damien Cain, who lives in Ireland, is releasing his new album "Standarte" on December 12, 2025. The work combines alternative rock, melodic metal elements and atmospheric soundscapes to create a multi-layered album that picks up on personal themes as well as musical influences from several decades.

Cain, who has lived in County Laois, Ireland, since 2020, describes "Standarte" as his most honest album to date. The result is a 17-track work that deliberately takes time to build up moods and allow for musical contrasts. The songs move between quiet, melancholy moments and powerful, guitar-driven passages.

The production was carried out in Dublin at the renowned Hellfire Studio together with Ivan Jackman, who has worked with Hozier ("Take Me to Church"), Sin?ad O'Connor and The Dubliners, among others. Musicians from Ireland, Germany, Great Britain, Finland, Argentina, Brazil and the USA were also involved in the creation of the album.

Damien Cain already attracted international attention in the early 2000s under the project name CAIN. The single "Age of Darkness" sold over 250,000 copies across Europe and won the Impala Diamond Award. CAIN then also appeared in the German charts and reached number 10 in the German Alternative Charts with the album "Moonstruck". Cain has also repeatedly worked as a lyricist: in 2006, he wrote the lyrics for "Dein Herz" by the band L'?me Immortelle, which was a chart success in Germany. Another special project was "Elenore", a musical reinterpretation of Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven", sung by Sir Christopher Lee.

Cain is now opening a new chapter with "Standarte". In terms of content, the album deals with questions of identity, change, loss and personal attitude. Despite international collaboration, the album bears a clear personal signature and reflects Cain's experiences over the past few years.

The first Irish radio stations have already previewed tracks from the album, with radio station KCLR praising "Fascinating Face" (the album's first single) as an energetic, rousing track. "Standarte" will be released on all popular streaming platforms as well as on CD and vinyl directly via the artist's website.
